OSM Adult Leader Application

Our desire is to form next generation followers of Jesus in a small group culture by being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did.

Every role on this team MATTERS and we're so thankful for the ways each person contributes to the formation of a teenager. We're so glad you're interested in joining the team!

Because your level of influence with a teenager is deep, we believe it's important that YOU take whatever role you're interested in seriously.

Being on this team is NOT:
  • an obligation
  • a project
  • a means to gain volunteer hours
  • an opportunity to get closer to your crush
  • for anyone who breathes
Being on this team IS:
  • an opportunity to build trust with the next generation
  • an opportunity to contribute to the formation of teenagers as we invite them to be, become, and do
  • an opportunity to be on a TEAM as we practice being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did
  • an opportunity to use your gifts and presence to build for God's Kingdom
  • a response to your genuine love for teenagers 
  • a consistent commitment
  • for adults who proclaim in word and with their life that Jesus is Lord and have a desire for teenagers to live an abundant life with God now and forevermore.

Team Roles

Please check all that you are interested in!

  • invest in a few teenagers over time so we can help them be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what He did
  • leading weekly times of prayer, discussion, and connection rooted in the month's teaching series
  • ideally, you will have a co-small group leader
  • attend team trainings in august and the monthly team hangouts
  • weekly commitment

  • you will set up and tear down tech equipment
  • you will assist with slides
  • you will assist with sound
  • you will assist with lighting
  • you will assist with music using Spotify
  • once a month commitment

  • you will help lead teens in worship through song on Gathering Nights
  • you will engage with the area of music that you are most gifted in
  • you will help select songs
  • you will assist in teaching our teenagers a theology of worship
  • once a month commitment

  • you will help plan and lead the games on Gathering Nights and events
  • you will meet with other people on the Game Team and/or the Student Ministry Director 1-2 weeks prior to a Gathering Night for planning purposes
  • once a month commitment

  • you will help capture footage through photography and videography on Gathering Nights and some Small Group Nights
  • you will help capture footage using our Instagram account on Gathering Nights and some Small Group Nights
  • you will help create content for One Student Ministry social media
  • once-twice a month commitment 

Qualifications

  • Faithfully follow Jesus
  • Care about the next generation
  • Be committed to consistently showing up for your role on the team
  • Intentionally be a part of this TEAM
  • Complete and pass the application + background check
  • If possible, shadow a Wednesday night
  • Invest in First B BEYOND Wednesday nights



Expectations

  • Show up weekly or monthly depending on your role
  • Attend the appropriate Training Events (3 at the end of August) and monthly Team Hangouts

Aug 13: Training at First B from 6-8:30PM (meal served at 6PM)

Aug 20: Training at First B from 6-8:30PM (meal served at 6PM)

Aug 27: Training at First B from 6-8:30PM (meal served at 6PM)

  • Communicate in a timely manner with the Student Ministry Director when they reach out


Application Questions

I agree to abide by the expectations and values of One Student Ministry while on the team. If I am unable to uphold these values I understand that I will need to step away from my role or that I may be asked by the Student Ministry Director to step away
